Getting Your License Back

Getting Your License Back

This is going to cost you—both in money and time.  There are specific procedures that must be done, in particular order, before you will be able to get your license back.  For a Statutory Summary Suspension ONLY the following must be done:

  1. ANY other suspension or revocation MUST be cleared first.
  2. Fees include a $250 Reinstatement Fee.  The amount goes up to $500 for repeat offenders.  Debit cards are NOT accepted.
  3. The reinstatement is only valid when the Secretary of State’s office has entered the information into the driver’s record.

For a revocation of driving privileges following a conviction, you will need to:

  1. Have a CLEAR driving record.
  2. Get a drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment if it is necessary.
  3. Complete a drug and alcohol education program.
  4. File proof of financial responsibility
  5. Pay a $500 Re-instatement Fee.  Repeat offenders will pay an EXTRA $500.
  6. Pay a $50 filling fee to request a formal hearing
  7. Pass your driver’s license exam and pay the fee for a new license.
