So you’re either under 21 or you’ve got the world’s worst hangover, cause going to the bars is simply out of the question. What’s a student to do for entertainment? You’ve got a few options in this situation, and I emphasize few. One option is to stay at home and nurse that hangover or curse your youth and veg out in front of the TV. The other available options require you to shower and get dressed, well ok, you’re only require to get dressed—smelling good is purely optional. Why not catch a movie at the Will Rogers Theater down on the square? Trust me, you won’t spend more than 10 bucks there. Otherwise, jump in the car for a roadtrip to the Showplace 8 next to Mattoon.
Most non pub options in Charleston involve movies or balls, bowling and golf balls that is. There are several golf courses in Charleston and the surrounding area so why not grab your clubs and go. The local bowling alley is also a great time, despite the music selection. Midnight bowling is something every student has to do.
There’s also Fox Ridge out south of town that has trails for hiking and other nature lovin stuff. And last but not least, you could check out any one of the sporting events that probably going on around campus.
